It’s been a while — hard to find time to work on the theme, but here’s a quick update:
Blog cards are done, archive and page templates mostly finished.
Homepage template still needs a redesign.
Started on the single post template (that one is messy).
Some links lead to different HTML templates.
Will be turned into a full PHP-based WordPress theme.

Ich bin grad dabei mit Feature-Requests ein paar nice Erweiterungen dafür zu bekommen.
Wenn die kommen, ist nicht nur Transkription in @ultraschall möglich, sondern auch theroretisch Voice Control von Ultraschall.
Podcastproduktion und Schnitt per Voice Commands wäre echt nice als #Accessibility-Feature...

Does anyone know where to report #a11y issues with the #Ubuntu Mate installer? I just tried to install ubuntu-mate-25.04 and sadly, it's pretty much a no go with Orca. Alt+Windows+S works to bring up the screen reader. The first screen of the installer appears to be the language selection screen; but after that, Orca is pretty much dead in the water, utterly unable to read anything else except "next" buttons. Pretty sad. Looks like they're not a11y testing this at all.
I refuse to rejoin #Facebook.
Where do #Accessibility #professionals hang out and talk shop? Slack? Discord? Perhaps a listserve?

After reading React
doesn’t make you do bad thing for #a11y post I have mixed thoughts. It is true it absolutely doesn’t make you do this but heavy JS first <div> tag monstrosities seems to be the most typical outcome for React projects. I appreciate the point one doesn’t have to emit garbage markup but maybe saddened there wasn’t more honesty of how rampant such crap outcomes are and how the mighty ecosystem sadly makes it more likely than not.
on a slightly more serious note, check in on your disabled, chronically ill, tired, burned out, elderly, neurodivergent, overwhelmed friends and neighbours.
See if anybody needs help getting to the polls.
When daily life is a struggle, these extra (and important!) things can be hard hurdles to get through.

The 2.1.1 guidance is wrong for suggesting adding `tabindex` to everything, as @yatil pointed out to the author.
The 1.4.10 guidance is misleading, as @scottohara pointed out to the author.
As is the case with most “simplified” WCAG resources, it must be treated with caution.
It's not possible for web scripting to detect when a screen reader is being used. To expose this information would amount to a privacy leak, undermining an individual's right to decide whether or not they want to disclose their disability. There's nothing more to be said on this point.
Bit of an accessibility tip for Fedora 42 users: Since Gnome on Fedora 42 doesn't come with the X11 sessions installed by default, to restore it just install the gnome-session-xsession & gnome-classic-session-xsession packages to get a better accessibility experience with Orca. #Fedora42 #A11Y #Accessibility #gnome
