Look at this wonderful young toad who I found today while moving hives. I popped him over in some damp earth beneath some trees. I felt sorry to have disturbed him from such a safe home.

A young toad, brown against the brown earth. There are red shoots and roots crossing the bare earth, which had been under a flat wooden square. You can clearly see the poison glands either side of the neck. They stop most, but not all, things from eating him. If a dog was to pick him up they'd soon be foaming at the mouth
