Want to know why #HamRadio is dying? Just visit qrz.com. I posted a reply to a forum post there. I know, I know, stupid me. And it was something fairly constructive. I got jumped on by a bunch of uptight fools. When I challenged one, I immediately (like in 5 seconds) got banned from the forum. This is not how we make progress. This is not how we bring new diverse talent into the hobby. Qrz.com, you suck.

Antennas have always been a weak point of mine. After a decade away from the hobby, and downsizing from a house to a ground level duplex I'm trying to figure out what the hell I'm going to do for an antenna.
I've got my rig picked out (FT 991a) but wondering if I take the compromise and do something like their ATAS-120A and slapping that sucker on a tripod in the backyard when I want to play.
Looking for opinions / advice.
I was out to play a bit of portable #hamradio around the corner. Nice working conditions. but I will need to look for another spot. First I got a lengthy discussion with a local hunter and then an armada of boomers with electric bikes invaded the cabin for a party 
I went for a #POTA activation at #plantenunblomen today. The conditions for shortwave contacts were a little rough due to a magnetic storm. Still I managed to get 39 QSOs into the logbook. Worked SSB and CW.

At the risk of igniting some controversy, but hopefully stimulating debate, I’d like to ponder the question: #Meshtastic and #LoRa mesh networks in general, #MeshCore, #Reticulum etc. … Are they “Amateur Radio”? #HamRadio - I know the technical UK answer “No, unless on 433MHz with the “Licensed Operator” setting on, with amateur license; no encryption, so no Reticulum allowed”.
