A while back a famous mathematics/ computer science (category theory) person berated me on mastodon for saying that a multipolar world is better than one dominated by the USA.
Sadly the last two years have demonstrated again - again - why the US Empire is not good for the globe.

America is addicted to filthy fossil fuels and is trashing its environment to feed that addiction rather than switching away to renewables like the rest of the world.
Solar and wind are way way cheaper than shunting toxic tar sands oil thousands of kilometres.
There is no hope for America though, with Trump deciding that child killing, planet frying coal is the way to go for America.
