I wasn't an enlisted man or an officer...</p><p>Can President <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Trump" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Trump</span></a> legally start <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/WWIII" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WWIII</span></a> with some foreign nation halfway around the world since he has carte blanche when it comes to the question of presidential immunity?</p><p>Here's a hypothetical scenario: Trump's popularity with the public goes way down in the polls. Way, way, down. So much so that Trump stays up continuously for many nights fretting. What to do? he asks himself. Donald Trump is too egotistical or proud of his position to <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/resign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>resign</span></a>. He can't quit the job of president because all of his benefactors and the voters want him to stay in office.</p><p>So, if he ordered a nuclear strike in the middle of the night against Yemen or North Korea with a maximum casualty count because he simply felt that he was provoked by the nation(s) while acting as a representative or true official of the US, would he then be immune from any form of judgement by the federal courts and the military's JCoS (Joint Chiefs) form of oversight? Would an "all or nothing" decision against a perceived hostile country by him actually factor in, since Trump knows that he is now immune from most or all consequences as the US Supreme Court recently interpreted laws for US Presidents? I'm assuming that neither branch of Congress would censure him in the next two years and certainly not call for votes of impeachment. That's been tried twice by the inept Congress and all of the Democrats' efforts there failed spectacularly.</p><p>With the bravado that Trump has shown the world regarding his imposing tariffs, it would be amazing if he didn't actually start a major war with some country such as North Korea.</p><p>Hard times ahead for everyone.
