Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg experimentierten hier die beiden visionären Komponisten Pierre Schaeffer und Karlheinz Stockhausen in ihren Wunderkammern voller seltsamer Geräte.</p><p>Die Dokumentation erzählt erstmals die Geschichte, wie diese bahnbrechende Nischenkunst den Grundstein für das legte, was heute Mainstream ist. Denn in den frühen 1970ern bezogen sich Bands wie Tangerine Dream und Kraftwerk bewusst auf die Errungenschaften des elektronischen Studios des Westdeutschen Rundfunks (WDR), und in Paris nahm Jean-Michel Jarre Unterricht bei Pierre Schaeffer, bevor ihm mit "Oxygène" 1976 ein Millionenseller gelang. Die Sendung zeichnet diesen einzigartigen Brückenschlag zwischen Avantgarde und Pop mit exklusiven Interviews und zum Teil nie gesehenem Archivmaterial nach. Sie bietet eine Reise von den vom Krieg gezeichneten Metropolen Paris und Köln, an den rauchenden Schloten Düsseldorfs vorbei bis ins hippe New York, wo schwarze Künstler zu Samples von Kraftwerk den Rap entdecken.</p><p>Es ist eine Geschichte entgegen jeder Wahrscheinlichkeit, eine Geschichte von Schwingungen, denen es gelingt, die Welt in Ekstase zu versetzen. Nielso<p>Tangerine Dream. Für mich war es ein kleines Erweckungserlebnis, in meinem Heimatdörfelein im Plattenladen (hatten wir in den 90ern wirklich!) einen Best-Of-Sampler von denen zu entdecken. Techno war ja nett gewesen, aber erst mit Tangerine Dream machten Synthesizer für mich auf einmal Sinn.</p><p>Heute ist die Band komplett neu/anders besetzt und zählt 57 Studio-Alben und 37 Singles und – wie könnte es anders sein – die meisten finde ich nicht attraktiv.</p><p>Aber hier kommt was vom Album „Hyperborea”, das mich noch immer fasziniert.</p><p>Überhaupt denke ich, dass die Zeit von 3-Minuten-20-Sekunden-Autotune-Pophits eigentlich durch ist.
