Written by Alanis and <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/GlenBallard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GlenBallard</span></a>, and produced by Ballard, it was released as the album's fifth <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/single" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>single</span></a> outside of the United States in July 1996 and presented a softer sound than the previous singles from the album.
