@aepstein [union.place] see https://mastodon.social/@torgo/114155132118227243 – and yes, I also use and recommend switching to DuckDuckGo for search. Many people don't want to, or can't, change browsers though. It's worth noting what can be done on mainstream browsers.

But it needs to be configured - e.g. turning off AI features, enabling "Strict" tracking protection, blocking third party cookies... But at least it gives you easy access to these settings. Safari is also good and has stronger privacy behaviour for the async clipboard API (which is the API underlying this behaviour) but doesn't specifically allow you to turn the feature off. I'm not sure what Firefox's mitigations are.

@kkarhan@infosec.space@torgo @aepstein@union.place I'd refuse to use any machine where I can't use my prefered Browsers ( @torproject / #TorBrowser, #LynxBrowser, @dillo #dillo) or my prefered #search ( @monocles / #monoclesSearch / https://monocles.eu) because it'll make it impossible for me to work!
