As you might have learned, the #Fediverse is quite different from corporate #SM sites.
In particular, there's no automatic #algorithm. People are the algorithm.
As with moving to a new neighborhood, you need to engage a bit.
The first two steps are to create a relevant #bio, which you"ve done
, and a pinned #introduction that you might (re)boost every week or so.

And at the same time, I am struggling to identify what I might now put in my bio. I am scared. When I wrote my last bio, someone I thought I had shared reality with used part of it against me, in service of exclusion, and this was very painful. It has taken me a while to make sense of what happened. Part of what I had written that I was 'angry'. And this was not welcome in the community that I was part of, which prioritised 'chill'. So it has taken a while for me to make sense of the intersection of integrity, the state of the world, how many people cope (chill/disassociation) and how I show up. Ofc the rest of my bio was about the chill things I do, but this apparently contributed to less to how I was understood. Xx

There is a big LGBTQIA+ community here on Mastodon, many more than IRL, percentagewise.
